There are many kinds of muscat grape, the type we grow is called moscato giallo or yellow muscat – for obvious reasons. It originates in Trentino, north eastern Italy, where they make dry table wines from it. It has the classic floral aromatics of a muscat grape but it tends to have a bit more interest in the mid palate than some of the more heady muscat types like gordo, or muscat of Alessandria.
